The Utah Gun Violence Prevention Campaign has created this privacy statement to inform site visitors of our data collection and storage practices, and guidelines for use of visitor data. This privacy statement covers practices related to www.gvpc.og and www.gvpcampaign.org.
Email List Subscription
The Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and the Gun Violence Prevention Center use your email address to send you news and alerts that you have requested. When subscribing to this and future email lists we will collect and store the personal information that you provide. However, The Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and the Gun Violence Prevention Center will not sell your name or e-mail address to spammers or share it with unaffiliated groups.
Action Alerts
Our "Action Alert" utility allows you to email your legislators through our Web site. By entering your address and zip code, you are matched to the appropriate member of the Utah Legislature. Your letter to your elected official will never be shared outside The Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and the Gun Violence Prevention Center.
Making a Donation
When Web site users click a button or link to join or donate, to the Gun Violence Prevention Center, you are directed to our form that is hosted on a secure Web server. If you choose to make a contribution with your credit card, your donation will be processed securely and in real time. Your credit card information will never be stored or misused by the Gun Violence Prevention center.
Technical Reporting
Our servers collect and aggregate user information site-wide, including anonymous site statistics, such as the number of views of each page. We log domain names and/or IP addresses of visitors (such as aol.com, 17.254.0.91, etc.), which permits us to know from where visitors originate, or what access service they use, without knowing their individual identities. This "host level" tracking is one of the ways we assess Web site traffic patterns.
Use of Cookies
A cookie is a small data file placed on your computer. A cookie cannot harm your computer in any way whatsoever. The URLs www.gvpc.org (and .com & .net) and www.gvpcampaign.org are the only Web site addresses that publish Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and Gun Violence Prevention Center information. Additionally, the Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and Gun Violence Prevention Center may include links to other organizations or Web pages on our Web site. The Gun Violence Prevention Campaign and Gun Violence Prevention Center are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, data security measures, or other links contained on Web sites linked from the GVPC sites.
